How To Make Peach Jam
Last weekend we were visiting friends in Virginia and we went peach picking. I love supporting local farms even when we are on vacation! I made sure to get enough to make peach jam when we got home.
The peaches were plentiful and easy picking. We kept singing, “Millions of peaches, peaches for free. Millions of peaches, peaches for me.” If you don’t know this song I am sorry but this was a staple on my college play list.
Yes… I just dated myself.
My oldest was doing her best to get the peaches just beyond her reach. That girl can jump!
We took an opportunity to take a family photo. My oldest has a peach in her hand as evidence that we picked peaches. The other 26 pounds were in the wagon being pulled up the lane by our friends.
I love how this batch of peach jam turned out.
It is lovely.
Peachy, rosy, golden, fabulous.
Do you see this peachy, plump jelly? I love that this recipe is not runny or soupy.
Here are the ingredients:
- 2 2/3 cups Crushed peaches (Peeled and pitted)
- 3 tablespoons Classic Pectin might I suggest Ball RealFruitTM Classic Pectin 4.7 oz.
- 3 1/3 Cups sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- Rind of 1 lemon
I did a video tutorial and because I am a teacher at Curious.com I have it up in my ‘classroom’ on the website.
