10 Summer Activities For Kids That Are Practically Free
School is out for summer and you are looking to keep the kids occupied with out spending an arm and a leg! We do our best to pinch pennies throughout the year including summer break. Here are 10 items that cost next to nothing to inspire your summer fun! I was recently on Good Day Pa! for my Thrifty Thursday segment talking about these practically free things you can do with your kids.

Sponge Bombs. Cut up colorful sponges in strips and tie them together. Dunk in water and throw!
Geocashing. A treasure hunt using GPS
Make a bird feeder. Use a soda bottle and a few dowel rods or wooden spoons and you have a bird feeder!
Summer reading program. Check you local library for what they are offering or check out the Barnes And Noble Summer reading Program. You could read your way to a free book!
Toothpick & mini marshmallow geometry.

Water beads in the water table. A great sensory experience.

Squirt bottle on the sidewalk. Squirt the sidewalk with your name or a fancy design. Let the sun dry it up. Make a game of it. How far can you get before the sum dries the water?
