How To Make Jelly Bean Vodka
Flavored vodkas are so simple and inexpensive to make. Jelly beans, skittles, candy canes and starburst candies are just a few of the many options you can use to flavor your vodka.
Start by separating out the different flavors into separate jars or containers. I use canning jars because I have so many!! Visit my canning page for all my other canning posts.
I would recommend a 4:1 candy to vodka ratio. But that is totally up to you.
Add the vodka to the jars.
I would not recommend using a high end vodka because you are totally changing the flavor of the vodka. In truth, I used the cheapest vodka I could find.
Let the colors and flavor dissolve off the candy.
These skittles took about 10 minutes.
You may have different results with different candies.
The idea is that the color and the distinct flavor of the candy will dissolve and infuse itself into the vodka.
Give the jars a swirl to distribute the cold and flavor.
Use a mesh stainer lined with paper towel to stain out the larger candy bits. This is a drink and no one like to chew on their drink. Get those bits out.
That is it! You have make jelly bean (or what ever candy you choose) vodka!
