When you are in the season where summer meets fall and you want a summer cocktail you make this fresh, hand crafted blueberry thyme cocktail. Bright, fresh flavors of blueberry with a hint of the aromatic thyme. This summer cocktail is sweetened with honey to balance out the flavor profile.
I am not the best at naming drinks so ‘summer meets fall’ is the best you are going to get on this one. It could be called ‘blueberry thyme cocktail that makes me remember summer but wish for fall’ but that is going a bit over board, don’t you think?
What ever you want to call it, I hope you enjoy this summer cocktail recipe and remember the flavors of summer and drink it throughout the fall.
Blueberry Thyme Cocktail Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Gin (Vodka if you aren’t a Gin drinker)
- 1/2 Teaspoon Honey
- 2 Sprigs Fresh Thyme
- 10 Fresh Blueberries (thawed frozen ones if they are out of season)
- 2-4 ounces Tonic Water
- Crushed Ice
- Garnish: extra blueberries and thyme sprig
Summer Cocktail Time!
If you have a few minutes to spare, allow the muddle to marinade for a few minutes. This will further develop the thyme infusion.
Fill the cocktail shaker half full (or is it half empty) with crushed ice.
Add 2 ounces of gin.
Now shake it. Shake it. Shake it like a polaroid picture!
Pour, don’t strain, the cocktail into a glass half filled with more crushed ice.
Top with tonic water.
Garnish is not necessary but totally fun!
This garnish is just a sprig of thyme stripped of its leaves from the center down and blueberries threaded on the stem.
Enjoy with friends and family!
