Chalkboard Bamboo Spoons As A Hostess Gift
If you are looking for a non-food related hostess gift to take to your next party, try this quick and easy craft using chalkboard paint and bamboo spoons. A message can be drawn on the handles expressing your thanks or the hostess can write the name of the dish they are serving on the handles. This is a unique gift that is a nice way of saying thank you.

Did you know chalkboard paint comes in colors other than green or black?

I found these Set of 6 Bamboo Kitchen Tools on Amazon. I think they were a pretty good price at $7.21 for 6 tools. Using blue painters tape mark off the portion you want to have painted.
Be sure to rub the edge of the tape very well. This will help ensure a nice crisp line.
Using a foam brush apply one coat of the chalkboard paint.
Allow to dry completely. Mine took about 10 minutes to dry completely.
Apply a second coat to the handle of the spoon.
Pictured on the left is two coats and one coat on the right.
Apply a third coat for good coverage. This is not necessary but I advise it.
Once everything is dry, peel off the blue tape.
You are done!
Allow to cure for 24 hours (or according to manufactures directions) before writing on the chalkboard paint.
Wrap with a ribbon and you are all set to give to your hostess.
