Why is chia seed pudding good for you?
Chia seeds are a good source of dietary fiber, with 16% of your daily-recommended intake in just one serving! Fiber-full foods, like chia seeds, help to support healthy digestion and also help you feel fuller for longer after eating. Chia seeds also contain omega fatty acids, essential minerals, and protein.
How long is chia seed pudding good for?
Once made, chia seed pudding will last for about 5 days when stored in the refrigerator. This pudding recipe is perfect for adding to your weekly meal prep for a quick, healthy breakfast.
What is a Maqui Berry?
Maqui Berry is a small, dark purple berry native to the Patagonia region of South America, and is often called the “Patagonia Super Fruit.” Its Vitamin A aids in maintaining healthy skin while fiber helps maintain healthy digestion and feelings of fullness.
What does Maqui berry taste like?
If you have never had a maqui berry before, know that it tastes like a blueberry, blackberry, watermelon had a baby and brought acai to the party. It is slightly tart and with just a hint of sweetness.
Why is my chia seed pudding watery?
If you don’t measure out the chia seeds correctly in ratio to the liquids you can get a watery pudding. To thicken the pudding consistency stir in a teaspoon of chia seeds at a time and allow them to absorb the excess liquid. Continue adding chia seeds and allow them to bloom before adding more to thicken the pudding.
How long should we soak chia seeds?
With a ratio of 3 tablespoons of chia seeds (1/4 cup) stirred in 1 cup liquid, allow the seeds to soak and bloom for 3 hours. For best results allow them to sit in the refrigerator overnight.
Do chia seeds need to be refrigerated?
The chia seeds contain enough antioxidants allow them to be stored for an extended period of time in a dark, cool place. Be sure to store them in a glass or plastic storage container with a tight-fitting lid in either the pantry, or in the refrigerator.
