Why is Minute® Multi-Grain Medley used in this recipe?
Minute® Multi-Grain Medley is a blend of four gluten-free, 100% whole grains, all non-GMO, including long grain brown rice, Thai red rice, wild rice and the popular quinoa. If your kids are like they mine they dissect everything on their plate! My kids had fun trying to pick out the individual grains in this medley. Their grandmother is a fan of quinoa so they were sure she would love this recipe. I assured them she would.
Bonus tips for this recipe:
- Be sure to remove the core of the apple. I left the skin on the apple for the beautiful color and the added fiber. It is not much but I will take what I can get! If you want to peel your apple, you are welcome to do so.
- The chicken or vegetable stock is going to add another layer of flavor to this amazing recipe. I love layers of flavors!
- If you would like to add another layer of flavor, allow the onions to take on a bit of brown color.
- The nutty flavor of Minute® Multi-Grain Medley is enhanced by the walnuts that are added to this dish. I love when flavors are so complimentary!
