Easy Cherry Pie Bars Ingredients:
- butter, softened
- granulated sugar
- salt
- eggs
- vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- cherry pie filling OR a quart of my sour cherry pie filling
- chopped almonds

Glaze Ingredients:
- confectioner sugar
- tablespoons milk
Cherry Pie Bars Instructions
- Preheat oven .
- Use a 9x11 pan with a removable bottom.
- Cream together butter and sugar.
- Add salt, eggs, and vanilla and continue stirring until fully incorporated.
- Add flour, baking powder, chopped almonds and mix until just combined.
- Reserve ½ cup of dough for topping.
- Press remaining dough into the prepared baking pan.
- Top with cherry pie filling.
- Drop remaining batter (½ cup) in small pieces over the cherry filling.
- Bake until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool completely.
- While cooling prepare the glaze.
- Whisk together confectioner sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over the bars.
- Cut into squares and serve.
How to store cherry pie bars
If you happen to have leftovers of your cherry pie bars, store them in a closed container in the refrigerator. I like to use a layer of waxed paper or plastic wrap if you have to make layers of cherry pie squares.
