You know how people procrastinate about stuff for a few days. Then those days turn into weeks and those weeks turn into months? Well, that is what has happened to me!
I am a big ‘ole procrastinator.
But on this project the procrastinating has not been because I didn’t want to do it but because I wanted to do it RIGHT. I want it to be GOOD. Every post I write, every photo I capture, every video I shoot, I want it to be the best that I am capable of at that moment. I want you, my audience, my friends, to accept my best.
How I Pinch A Penny – A little story
HIPAP started as a way of sharing how my family saved and how we stretched a dollar. My thinking was for me to share how WE did it and if YOU wanted to use our technique then I had succeeded. But I felt I, along with this blogging space, had grown beyond just neat tips and tricks for saving money for the family.
I was sharing more about recipes and ways our family was enjoying time together. I was sharing with you information about movies and how they inspired me to craft and cook. I was sharing about the places we loved to travel.
I knew I was good at pinching pennies and sharing those stories but I felt there was so much more to me and my family than the financials. We did so much more than sit with pencil and paper and crunch numbers, finding ways to save here so we could spend there. So about a year ago I decided that I needed to transition from How I Pinch A Penny to something else. But WHAT!?
We decided that the family needed to travel more. #MockTravels is the hashtag we use when we travel and travel we did! We decided that instead of waiting to travel ‘one day’ we were going to travel NOW. We were going to create memories NOW. Tomorrow is not guaranteed and we were going to savor the now.
I fell in love with creating engaging videos and you liked to watch them! You subscribed to my YouTube Channel and watched what I posted. My heart soared when you gave videos a thumbs up and shared on social channels. You see, words are my ‘love language’ and seeing positive comments and the big thumbs up gave me motivation to do more and to create better.
You watched me on Thursday on Good Day Pa! for my ‘Thrifty Thursday with Sarah Mock’ segments. I LOVE being part of this mid day lifestyle program and get a big kick out how much good information Amy and I can present to you in 3 minutes. When it is live TV those three minutes FLY by!
I started sharing with you more about technology and the pieces that make our lives easier and how we integrate them into our every day life. (There will be more technology coming…promise)
So I tried to put into words what all of these writing platforms meant to me and what I wanted them to mean to YOU. What did I want to share with YOU? What did I want YOU to glean from ME in this space?
I want you to see good, I want you to hear good, I want you to expereince good. I want you to Savor The Good.
How I Pinch A Penny is now Savoring the Good.
I couldn’t be more excited! I want YOU to savor your food, your family, your life experiences. I want YOU to savor the good you are in right now and to savor the good that has happened to you in the past.
I am going to be sharing with you what I see as good and I am going to ask you to share with me the Good that you see. I will be sharing with you Good Food, Family Good, Travel Good and Technology Good. There will be other Good that comes up but this seems to be the Good that I have been seeing recently.
I want to thank YOU for all you have done to make How I Pinch A Penny the success that I was it was and hope you will embrace this new chapter in my digital life as I show you how we are Savoring the Good.
