This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Glad, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #pressnsealhacks http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
My family has been doing a lot of traveling this year and we LOVE it! My husband and I spent 10 glorious days in France and Italy visiting friends. This was a dream come true trip that we have been talking about taking ‘one day’ or ‘when the kids are older’. But instead of waiting for ‘someday’ to come we decided that NOW was the time so we booked the tickets and went off on an adventure that included so much fun, food and wine!
In May the family took a quick trip to Disney for a blog related trip and made magical memories that we will talk about for years to come. And then this past week we took our first trip on a Disney Cruise! My Father in Law surprised us this past Christmas with tickets for this 5 day cruise vacation. I am in the middle of writing these post so there will be more to come soon. So as you can see, we have had an unusually busy travel schedule and we are not even half way through the year! I keep telling the kids that we won’t travel like this ALL THE TIME so enjoy it while it lasts!
But that brings me to the subject of jewlery.
While we travel a girl has got to look pulled together! I could go with the concept of ‘Oh I will just wear the same thing all the time’.
We take LOTS of photos while we travel and post bunches of them on Instagram. The vain part of me wants to look cute, right down to my jewelry!
So here is how to pack your jewelry so it won’t tangle when you travel.
Lay out all the jewelry you will be wearing for the trip. I also lay out all my outfits so I know I have all the correct pieces and nothing is caught in the laundry. Be sure to check to see you have all the correct earrings, bracelets and rings for each day. Now is a good time to be sure you have all the earring backing that you always seem to be losing. (wait…is that just me?)
Pull out a piece of Glad Press’n Seal long enough to fold over your jewelry. (If you haven’t guessed by now we are going to be making a packet.) Place your jewelry NEATLY on one half of the Glad Press’n Seal. I picked up the Glad Press’n Seal when I was at Walmart getting sunscreen and other last minute items for our trip.
Fold over the Glad Press’n Seal and, you guessed it, Press’n Seal your jewelry into place.
I press in between the chains and around my earrings so that they stay more securely in place.
Roll up your jewelry packets and you are ready to pack them in your travel jewelry case. Try rolling up your long chains, necklaces and earrings with out Glad Press’n Seal and see what happens. No. Don’t do that. I know what will happen because I have done that before. You end up with a tangled mess and you either spend way too much time untangling your pieces or you give up and leave with out wearing anything.
I am a fan of the ‘roll up everything’ method of packing. I think my kids saw something on Myth Busters that this was the most effective way of packing. All I know is that it works for me and I am able to see everything at a glance when I am trying to get out the door and enjoy my vacation.
Look how nicely everything fits into this small travel bag! THIS is the way to pack your jewelry so it doesn’t get tangled.
