Disney Cruise Mattress
This past year we went on a cruise aboard the Disney Cruise Line Disney Dream and it was just that, a DREAM! I was in love with the entire experience from the food, to the entertainment to the bits of pixie dust that was constantly being sprinkled.
I have to tell you the ONE thing that I wanted to take home was the mattress.
Yes. The Disney mattress.
I know that people say that you sleep like a baby when you are on a cruise boat. Not only did I sleep like a baby but I slept like Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. I am not joking. There was something MAGICAL about that Disney cruise lime mattress.
Being the inquisitive person that I am, the last thing I did before I left our stateroom was to strip off all the sheets from the bed to see who made this magical bed. I found: NOTHING. There were no marking on this Disney cruise mattress! No clues as to where I might be able to purchase one for my very own.
I was crushed.
I was just going to have to cling to the memories of my magical sleep aboard this magical ship.
And then this happened at Christmas:
My husband found out how to purchase us not only the pillows but the same MATTRESS that is aboard the Disney Dream.
And then it arrived!
Here is how you can get A Disney Cruise Mattress of your own:
- You need to call Sealy's Hospitality division at 336-861-3768. My husband spoke with Sherri.
- Explain you are looking to purchase a mattress found on one of the Disney Cruise Line ships.
- Choose your mattress height, there are 3 options.
- Choose the size mattress.
- Place an order with a credit card.
At the time the price was $847 plus tax. (2016)

Turns out The Disney Dream has Sealy Posturepedic Premium Plus Euro-Top mattress. At least that is what Sherri told us it was.

How long does it take for the mattress to be made?
My husband told Sherri that he did want to order it and to go ahead and place the order. She told him it would be 2-4 weeks for the mattress to be made. Apparently they don't have warehoused full of mattresses and they are made to order. I was super excited about this! I had a 'custom' mattress.
We were told that it would be up to 2 weeks after the mattress was produced for it to be delivered. It was a bit of waiting but it was worth the wait.

UPDATE: Received the replacement bed under Sealy defective bed replacement. The same one, Sealy Sayer Prolux. Within a week the bed has indention's and killing our backs again. This bed took 6 weeks to get. This bed is crap. We were under the impression we were getting a comparable bed to the one we had on the Disney Cruise in 2019. When I talked to Sherri, I said several times we were on the 2019 Dream cruise and that bed was so comfortable. The only thing she told me is that they discontinued the top material and this bed was comparable. Definition of comparable; 1 : capable of or suitable for comparison The situations are not at all comparable. 2 : similar, like fabrics of comparable quality. THIS BED ISN'T!

I'm so excited for Cruella on Disney+! I don't think they could have chosen anyone better than Emma Stone for that role. Disney movies are so great, and 101 Dalmatians is one of my favorite. There are really some great movies coming out recently.

If your thinking of getting a "COMPARABLE" Disney cruise line bed (Sealy Sayer Prolux), like the one on Disney Dream, think twice (especially if it comes from their Orlando factory). The bed we received was a joke. Nothing like the bed we used on the Disney Dream in the Spring of 2019. One, it does not even come close to the thickness of the Disney Dream bed. Within two months we had to email the Sealy company because our bed was indenting so bad and killing my back, hips, and thighs. We sent tons of photos and have dealt with them for 6 months. We are waiting for our replacement bed and it has been over a month and still no status on the bed. We shall see what this one looks like if we ever receive it. Comparable is suppose to be comparable. It should have the same thickness and quality of the Disney Cruise bed or this is bait and switch.

We have had the mattress now for about a week and it is wonderful. It's been 6 months since our last cruise, so I can't say for sure how close it is to what is actually on the ships (but we will find out next May!) The salesperson said that some people say it is slightly on the firmer side. In any case, we love it! The back/neck/shoulder pain that I have been experiencing with our last three mattresses is gone.

$847 plus state sales tax for a queen. Mattress and box spring both. The mattress was available for $714 by itself. Expected delivery 4 - 6 weeks.

I just got home from my Disney Magic cruise and the last thing I did was rip the sheets off to see what kind of mattress it was that I desperately need at home!! The mattress did say Sealy Disney Dream Collection Pillow top!! I am so glad to know I can contact Sealy directly and get one!! I couldn't make out the tags on the pillows so thanks for that info!! I thought for sure the mattress would cost more than my trip! What size did you get for that price?
