Inside Out Carmel Apples
A wonderful fall treat is carmel apples.
Yummy carmel and chocolate covered goodness, and if you are lucky there are nuts and more chocolates on top of that!
But have you ever tried to EAT one of those suckers!?
By the time you get to the center you have lost all of the caramel and chocolate goodness!
I am sure that was the intent at one point…to get kids to eat apples by coating them in caramel and chocolate.
Well I have fixed that problem! Turn the apple inside out!
Well, not inside out in the try sense of the words.
Core and cut up several apples. I prefer Granny Smith. Granny Smith apples are tart and will balance niecely all the sugary sweetness you are about to impart on the apples.
Drizzle caramel sauce and chocolate sauce all over the apples.
Sprinkle as many toppings on them as you like! I prefer Reese’s pieces and chopped nuts. But toss on the yummy goodies that you and your family like best.
Drizzle on MORE caramel and chocolate to ‘lock in’ the toppings.
Now you are able to easily pick up pieces of cored apple and get a bite of chocolate, caramel and treat with each bite!
This makes a great treat to take to a fall or Halloween party. Serve on a large platter and watch it get devoured quickly.
