Lavender Sugar Scrub: A Luxury From The Kitchen
If you are looking for a simply yet luxurious scrub that can be made from ingredients you already have in your kitchen look no further! Lavender sugar scrub is a lovely way to beat the mid winter blues as well as exfoliate and soften your skin. We all love a spa day but truthfully I don’t get there more than once or twice (at MOST) a year. I pull out this scrub or my coffee sugar scrub when I need to have a little ‘me’ time or an at home spa day.
Start with 3 ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar (If you have sensitive skin use brown sugar.)
- 1 tablespoon lavender buds (if you have extra lavender buds try my Herbs de Provence recipe)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
Combine the sugar and the lavender buds.
If you have lavender essential oil use a few drops of that.
Add the olive oil until the mixture is slightly dryer than wet sand.
Stir to combine.
Other additions that would be fabulous in this recipe would be lemon oil or lemon zest! Lemon and lavender are perfect partners.
Give it a shake up or a quick stir if the oil separates out before each time you use the scrub. I just use my hands to apply the scrub but others will use a loofah or even apply the scrubs will a wash cloth.
