Mahi mahi is a delicious fish that works well with so many fish recipes. Here are some of the best mahi mahi recipes you can make for fish Friday or any day of the week you need a fish recipe.
One of my personal favorite fish recipe is mahi mahi fish tacos. I use the sous vide method of cooking so the fish is perfect every time.
Is Mahi Mahi a white meat fish?
The term “whitefish” is loosely used to describe various white-fleshed fish, but a true whitefish is a freshwater fish related to trout and found in the Great Lakes of North America. Mahi-mahi are fished along the Pacific coast, off the coast of Costa Rica and offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. Mahi Mahi has a white flesh but is not technically a whitefish as it is not related to trout.
Do you leave skin on mahi mahi?
The skin of Mahi Mahi can be left on for cooking, broiling or grilling. The fish easily pulls away from the skin once cooked. I am not one to eat the skin but some like it broiled and crisp.
Should mahi mahi smell fishy?
Mahi Mani, like other fish should not smell like a fish. There should not be a distinct fish smell to it. Mahi mahi should smell neutral or almost sweet.
Is Mahi Mahi actually dolphin?
Mahi-mahi is the Hawaiian name for the species Coryphaena hippurus, also known as the Dorado in Spanish and then that translates to dolphin fish in English. Dolphin fish is not a bottle nose dolphin. A bottle nose dolphin is a mammal and a dolphin fish is a fish.
