Cars 3 is in theaters June 16 and you will be revving YOUR engines to be first in line for tickets! Even if you have not seen the first two in the franchise, (but who has NOT seen a Cars movie!?) you will love this movie. If you are an adult you might even wipe away a few tears, just saying. This will be a spoiler free post!
4 Reasons Cars 3 Is Worth Seeing In Theaters
I have seen the film twice and each time I leaned over to the person sitting next to me and whispered, ‘I love this sound track’. I don’t think they wanted me to be talking to them but I had to share with someone that the music was spot on! With 8 song tracks on the original score, there will sure to be one that sticks in your head. I currently have ‘Run That Race’ running through my head. (The soundtrack is released June, 16 but you can preorder today!)
The Crystal Fluid Picture
I am not sure if ‘crystal fluid’ is the correct terminology, but that is the only way I can describe the amazing animation of the Cars 3 movie. Pixar is constantly in development to have technology to create the most beautiful images possible and the rendering they used on this film is out of this world. There were several scenes where I was certain they had shot on location and did an overlay of the cars. But it was all animated. Every single frame.
For those who love numbers as much as I do: The render farm being utilized to render “Cars 3” runs more than 60,000 cores. Memory has been upgraded recently, bringing the average per core to 10 gigabytes, compared to the 4 gigabytes per core recently used for “Inside Out”.
We all love a good, strong female character in a film and Cars 3 will not disappoint you! Racing might have, at one time, been a ‘boys club’ but the ladies have torn down that sign! Cruz Ramirez (voiced by Christela Alonzo) will have you cheering throughout the film while Natalie Certain (voiced by Kerry Washington) had this number geek taking notes on her stats. Not a racer but a piece to the Cars 3 story, Miss Fritter, voiced by Lea Delaria, is the queen of the demolition derby and will make you want to go back to school just to ride the school bus again. My bus drivers were never this wild, but I am sure some were! Cars 3 would not be the story it is with out these female characters. Pay attention to each of them because they will speak to you in their own way.
I am doing my best not to tell you the entire story of Cars 3 but I believe that the story telling in this film is ON POINT! For me, the Cars 3 storyline is about change and transition. It is about looking where you came from and how you will move forward. It is about legacy and learning. It is about allowing women to be the empowerment they are meant to be and all the excitement that comes with that acceptance. Yes, this is still a movie about racing cars, but there just like all the story lines in the Pixar franchise, they are SO MUCH more than that. Long after you leave the theater you will be remembering how the story was woven together.
