Start Seeds In Newspaper Cups
You may have seen my post on starting seeds in egg shells. It is organic and fabulous but what if you can’t get the eggs to crack in the right place you may get a bit frustrated. SO here is another option. Newspaper cups. Easy peasy. The newspaper will decompose, allow water to drain out if you over water and they are large enough to hold a substantial root system.
Here is how you make them:
I rip a page of newspaper in half vertically. Fold that piece in half vertically. You now have a long thin piece of newspaper.
Use a small jelly jar or a can and wrap the newspaper around it.
Secure it with a piece of tape.
Cut slits in the paper to the base of the can/jar.
Fold the strips in and secure with tape.
Pull the newspaper cups off the jar and you are done! So easy.
