My girls LOVE to watch Littlest Pet Shop videos on Youtube. It is almost to the point of me saying, ‘Really!? Again?!’ Almost.
My oldest currently wants to be a vet and will soak up anything related to taking care of animals and she loves to watch the adventures of the Pets and their interaction with Blythe, the little girl who has the ability to communicate with the pets she cares for at the Pet Shop. My youngest just loves the antics of the pets and the adventures they get into.
We were sent a couple of sets of the new Littlest Pet Shop style sets I knew we had to share these with their friends! It sounded like we were going to be have an awesome play date one afternoon! These new sets can be enjoyed by themselves or combined to make an awesome downtown city for Blythe and the Pets to play. I love that they are able to be personalized by each girl! There are so many stickers, decorative pieces and Deco Bits (think decorative pieces that can plug in anywhere a bit of glam is needed) that each piece can be individual as the girl creating it.
Check out how our little party went down!
Before the girls had arrived I pulled out all the pet from the sets and had them sitting on the table next to dessert, cupcakes. I had each girl select one and decorate a cup cake. This was going to be THIER cupcake and their pet to take home after the play date.
It was lunch time when everyone arrived so everyone sat down to a lunch of pizza and fruit. I think this was the last time this group was quiet!
After lunch we sat down to watch an episode of Littlest Pet Shop. What is a Littlest Pet Shop party with out a little cartoon action?! The whole crowd loved the show. We had ages 4-11 in the room and they all were singing along with the theme song. It was one of those things I wish I had captured on video but will just have to remember with out the video evidence.
We broke a couple of house rules and let the kids have their cupcake desserts in the family room while they watched the show. Some of them watched the whole time and others started playing with the pets. The interactions were so cute!
And then we got silly faces when they saw the camera was pointed at them. Giggles all around!
We had more sugary fun by passing out Sunil Slushies! These were a big hit with everyone. Super simple to make and customizable to what every pet you would like to feature.
We just chose Sunil because is a one the girls favorites.
Here is how I did it:
- 4 1/2 cups of cold water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons favoring of your choice (we chose Strawberry)
- 4-5 drops neon blue food coloring
In a small pot combine 1 cup of the water and sugar. Heat just until the sugar melts and the liquid is clear. Stir occasionally. Remove the pot from the heat and add in the remainder of the water as well as the extract and the food coloring. Allow the sugar mixture to cool completely.
Place your liquid into the bucket of your chilled ice cream maker insert and process until it becomes slush-like. About 20-25 minutes. Serve immediately or transfer to containers such as canning jars for easy portioning at the party! Prior to serving allow it to once again become slushy, stirring it up as it begins to thaw.
When you store your just made water ice – do NOT store it in your ice cream bucket – it will harden like a rock and be next to impossible to thaw. Don’t ask me how I know!
After the episode was over and hands were cleaned we headed to the living room to construct the Style Sets. The older girls got the Pet Shop to put together and the little girls each got Blythe’s Bedroom to put together. The assembly of the sets was great for reading and following directions, working together and then being creative.
So many stickers to personalize the Style Sets!
Remember I was talking about the Deco Bits and how they add bits of glam to the pieces? Here they are being added to a chandelier. They also can be added to the walls and other accessories. They can be removed and repositioned as your redecorate your Pets Place.
The girls were so excited about their Littlest Pet Shop Places they wanted to give you a tour. Check it out!
At the end of the party each family got to take home one of the Play Sets! Watch episodes of Littlest Pet Shop on Discovery Family Channel (Formerly Hub Network). Check local listings for times.
