Taco Popcorn Recipe
We are HUGE fans of popcorn in our house.
Every Friday night is ‘Pizza and a Movie Night’. We run down the street and pick up a few pizzas, we pull out the sofa bed and let the kids jump on it and watch a RedBox movie. If we don’t like what RedBox has in it we pull something from Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime has some great movies that are family friendly and there is no extra charge because they are included with our prime membership! You know I am going to milk that membership for all it is worth!
Along with our pizza and movie we pop a big bowl of popcorn. I am a stove top popcorn popper. No microwave popcorn in our house! I use either coconut oil or peanut oil to pop the corn. Just 2 tablespoons of butter and a sprinkle of salt is how we like it. Oh so yummy!!
But I like to mix it up once in a while and serve a flavored popcorn. It is a great way to introduce different spices to the kids. This is one of their favorites.
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 3 tbs. oil (peanut oil is option)
- 1 T. melted butter
- 2 t. Taco Seasoning (Another good option is my Chili Spice Mix)
- Pop the corn.
- Melt the butter and toss with the popcorn.
- Sprinkle with the seasoning and toss.
