This is an easy Thai Iced tea recipe with warm and spicy flavors with a swirl of creamy sweetness. It is refreshing on a hot day and cools your palate after a spicy meal. This easy Thai iced tea recipe is a blend of different recipes. Feel free to adjust the spices to make it your own!

I participated in Mom Blog Tour Winter Fancy Food Show (#MomBlogTourFF) on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers. I received Saffron Road products to facilitate my review, but my opinions and the recipe are my own.
Thai Iced Tea Recipe. Easy, Homemade, Refreshing

Thai Iced Tea Recipe Ingredients

  • 6 Cups Water
  • 8 Black Tea Bags
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 1 Vanilla Bean
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon Cardamom (optional)
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk (Or dairy or dairy alternative of your choosing)

Procedure

Bring the water to a rolling boil.

Turn off the heat.

Steep the teabags and spices in the boiled water for 15 minutes.

You are making a tea concentrate so the it will be a strong tea. The spices need time to open up and fully infuse the tea.

Strain

Strain the spices out of the tea.

I use a mesh strainer lined with a coffee filter to separate out the spices.

Cool the tea completely.

Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

This is your Thai Iced Tea Base

Easy Thai Iced Tea Recipe

Make the tea

It is best to let the tea cool completely before mixing the tea with the sweetened condensed milk. But if you are like me, and want your delicious drink NOW fill a glass half full with crushed ice.
Pour your Thai Ice Tea base to fill the glass until it is 3/4 full. (or is it 1/4 empty? )
Top the tea with 2 large tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk.
I like to watch it sink to the bottom of the glass and see the lovely trails of milky deliciousness as it falls.
Stir to combine and enjoy!
If you would like the have your tea sweeter, add another spoonful of sweetened condensed milk.
Other options for adding milk to your tea would be heavy cream, whole milk, coconut milk or almond milk. You may have to adjust your sweetness if you opt for one of these ingredients.

Meal Pairing

If you are looking for authentic global frozen meals you need to look no further than Saffron Road Frozen entrees and bowls. Saffron Road has launched 8 new frozen entrees this past year and focuses on culturally authentic recipes. In fact, Gabby Patrick helped develop the Oaxacan cuisine!

I love the fact that the fish they feature in their meals is wild caught! I know I am always looking to see that the fish I feed my family is wild caught and not farm raised. Featured above is the Thai Red Curry Fish Bowl. This bowl, along with a the majority of the Saffron Road offerings are certified organic and certified Halal. Find out what certified Halal means here.

Chicken Pad Thai Frozen Entree

The chicken is humanely raised without antibiotics and certified Halal. This was just the start of the deliciousness of this dish! The wide rice noodles are a delicious accompaniment to the spicy peanut sauce.

The Thai Iced Tea recipe is a delicious drink to wash down the mild heat of the chicken pad thai.
