If you are just now joining us I am telling everyone about the Turkey Hill Experience in Columbia, Pa that will have its grand opening on Saturday June 4. Catch up by reading Post #1 and Post #2 then come back to keep reading.
Now it is time for some more fun stuff.
This was a great exhibit to test your Turkey Hill ice cream knowledge. Start with a fabulous ice cream flavor then spin the wheel to select the corresponding ice cream, swirls and pieces. Hit the button and a buzzer or ding will let you know if you are correct. My kids had fun ‘creating’ flavors and then hitting the button to see if they were ‘right’. This would be a lot of fun to challenge your friends to see who has the most experienced ice cream palette.

There is always time for shopping!! I was pleased that the gift show was just that… a shop. Not an entire floor or even half of a floor. So many times you go to attractions and you are barraged with so much merchandise to be purchased. It is nice to take a token away with you from you experience but shopping for that item should not be the focus of the trip. Just me on my soap box for a minute. I am off now.
I loved the ‘sweet as tea’ t-shirt with its retro feel. I have a baby so who can resist a cute baby bib? My girls had fun playing with the ice cream stacking game. The pizza was the only thing that tore them away from playing. They even have the popular white oval car magnets that we see all over the highways. I am an avid oval spotter. How about you?
This was a great exhibit. (Are you sensing a theme here? I think they are all great!) Gab a card and go from column to column and press a scent onto your card. The press not only leaves a drop of concentrated scent but also leaves an impression with the scent symbol so you know exactly what you have pressed. Kind of like the periodic table meets a notary. Layer your scents to create your own unique scent. I think the photo on the right says it all… AHHH Yummy!
This exhibit was my favorite just for the technology. I am sure it is simple technology but it was well done in my opinion.
Grab a bucket of flavor and take it over to the ‘vat’ of milk/ice cream base. ‘Pour’ it in the mix and watch the flavor swirl, drip, flow and then fill the entire batch. Take the bucket out and watch the batch return to plain. I could have stood here and played with this for hours. I am sure it had something to do with the large white button on top of the bucket and a hidden camera but that is just my interpretation. It was just lots of fun.
