This is my favorite pizza dip recipe. Made in a cast iron pan and heated on the grill this easy recipe for pizza dip is a family favorite for picnics, camping or family gatherings. Add pepperonis to make a pepperoni pizza dip or add grilled vegetables to make a veggie pizza dip.
In a mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the cream cheese with: Dried Basil, Garlic Powder, Milk, 1/2 the Shredded Mozzarella Cheese and 1/2 the Grated Parmesan Cheese
Spread in the bottom of a 12 inch cast iron skillet spread the cream cheese mixture.
Pour 1/2 of a jar of pizza sauce over the cream cheese mixture.
Top with an additional 1 cup of Mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese.
Heat the grill to 400 degrees. If it goes to 425, the world will not end. No big deal.
Place the cast iron skillet on the hot grill and close the grill for 10 minutes.
After 15 minutes check the dip and see if the cheese is bubbling.
Serve pizza dip with either a tortilla chip or a wheat thin
You can also use a 10" skillet... the dip will just be a little deeper and need a few minutes extra to heat through. Use what you have. I used the duel handle 12" pan from Lodge in this post. How do you reheat pizza dip?I love to reheat pizza dip in the microwave.
