Quick Beef Lo Mein with Broccoli and Carrots

Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (substitute spaghetti noodles)
  • 3 Cups broccoli
  • 2 Tablespoons oil (for sautéing)
  • 8 oz flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 large carrot (shredded)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Soy Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper flakes
  • sesame seeds (optional)
  • green onions (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Noodles & Broccoli

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add lo mein noodles and cook according to package directions. Toss in the broccoli halfway through. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Beef & Carrots

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil, thinly sliced beef, and shredded carrots. Stir-fry for 5–8 minutes, until the beef is cooked to your liking.

Make the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, ground ginger, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
    3 cloves Garlic, 2 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce, ¼ Cup Soy Sauce, ¼ Cup Brown Sugar, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger, ½ teaspoon Black Pepper, ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper flakes

Combine Everything

  • Add noodles and broccoli to the skillet with the beef. Pour in the sauce and stir until everything is well coated and heated through.

Garnish & Serve

  • Top with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
