Make a batch of my homemade lilac syrup and add it to your favorite lemonade. I won't pass judgment if you poured in a little lilac infused alcohol either! Gin would be my choice but vodka would be delicious as well.

    Lilac Lemonade Recipe Ingredients

    • 1 part lilac syrup
    • 4 parts lemonade

How Do You Make Lilac Lemonade?

This recipe proportions are completely up to you. I like the 1 part lilac syrup to 4 parts lemonade but you are welcome to mix it to your liking. Like a little more lilac? Pour in more lilac syrup. Like a little more tart? Add some more lemonade.

I am trying to make this the easiest lemonade recipe possible. If you have a favorite homemade lemonade recipe, use it! If you like to use the powder mix, use it! The start of this recipe is the lilac syrup.

    ❄️ Storage tips

Remember that homemade drinks like this don’t have preservatives like store-bought options do, so they won’t last as long. It’s always best to consume them within a few days for maximum freshness and flavor!

    • Refrigerator: You can store the lilac lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Be sure to give it a good stir or shake before serving, as some of the ingredients may settle or separate over time.
    • Freezer: If you want to store the lilac lemonade for longer than 5 days, you can freeze it in an airtight container for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to serve it, simply thaw it in the refrigerator and give it a good stir or shake before serving. Keep in mind that some of the texture and flavor may be slightly altered after freezing and thawing.
    • Glass jars: Another option is to store the lilac lemonade in glass jars with tight-fitting lids. This is ideal if you’re planning on taking the lemonade on-the-go or need individual servings for an event. Be sure to chill them thoroughly before packing them up, and place them in an insulated cooler if possible.

📝 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, ANSWERS AND TIPS:

Does lilac lemonade have real lilacs in it?

Lilac lemonade is a refreshing floral twist on summer lemonade. By adding lilac simple syrup made with real lilac blossoms to a glass of fresh lemonade you have added another lovely layer of flavor and fragrance to a refreshing summer beverage.

What does lilac lemonade taste like?

The flavor can be described as floral and slightly sweet, with a subtle hint of citrus from the lemonade base.

Lilacs have a delicate floral scent that adds a pleasant fragrance to the lemonade, making it not only delicious but also refreshing for the senses. The color of lilac lemonade is usually a pale pink or purple, depending on how much lilac is used.

The lemonade has a unique flavor profile that’s unlike any other type of lemonade. It’s perfect for those who enjoy floral flavors and want to try something new and refreshing during hot weather.

    Can you eat lilacs?

Yes, lilacs are technically edible and can be used in various culinary applications. However, it’s important to note that not all species of lilac are safe to eat and some may even be toxic.

If you do choose to eat lilacs, make sure you’re using the common lilac species (Syringa vulgaris) which is most commonly found in gardens and is generally considered safe for consumption. The flowers can be used as a garnish or added to dishes for flavor and aroma. The taste of lilacs is floral, somewhat sweet, and reminiscent of lavender.

When consuming any type of flower or plant for the first time, it’s always best to start with a small amount and see how your body reacts before consuming more. Additionally, if you have any concerns or medical conditions related to food allergies or sensitivities, it’s best to consult with a healthcare professional before trying something new.
