    Here is why this gyros pizza recipe is amazing:

    • Customize each gyros pizza for each member of your family! Add extra toppings of the ones they love and leave off the ones they don't. My husband will ALWAYS leave off the red onions.

    Gyro Pizza Ingredients

    Gyro Flatbread Ingredients Needed:

    • Gyro Meat - leftover is fine. Slice it thin.
    • Pita bread - I buy it in my grocery store. or I will use leftover naan bread. Not traditional but I still like it.
    • Olive oil - just a bit for brushing on the pita
    • Fetta - crumbled is fine but I am breaking off a large piece of a brick of fetta cheese
    • Onion - red, thinly sliced
    • Cucumber - seeded and chopped small
    • Tomato - seeded and chopped
    • Mint leaves - sliced thin
    • Ttaziki Sauce - homemade is my favorite!

    How to make Gyro Pizza

    1. Preheat the oven to 425. brushing a pita with olive oil
    2. Brush olive oil on the flatbread. gyro pizza before it goes in the oven
    3. Layer on thinly sliced gyro meat, diced tomatoes, slivered red onions, and crumbled feta cheese. gyro pizza fresh out of the oven
    4. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese takes on some color.
    5. Transfer the pizza to a serving tray and add diced cucumbers, diced tomatoes, dollops of tzatziki sauce, feta dip and sprinkle with mint leaves.

    Can this pizza be made for a crowd?

    Definitely! This pizza gyros is made with a pita bread but feel free to use a pre made pizza crust or other pizza dough.Making this a larger gyro pizza would make a great group appetizer.

    What is gyro meat?

    In Greece, it is prepared most often with pork or chicken, whilst beef, chicken, and lamb are common in other countries. It is typically served wrapped or stuffed in a pita, along with ingredients such as tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce. SOURCE

    • 3 slices Gyro Meat
    • 1 Pita bread
    • 1 ½ teaspoon Olive oil
    • ¼ cup Fetta (crumbled)
    • 2 Tablespoons Onion (thinly sliced)
    • 2 Tablespoons Cucumber (seeded, diced)
    • 2 Tablespoons Tomato (seeded, diced)
    • 6 Mint leaves (thinly sliced)
    • ¼ cup Tzatziki Sauce

    Instructions
     

    • Preheat the oven to 425.
