Where to find soft peppermint sticks:

I bought the King Leo soft peppermint sticks from Amazon because I couldn’t find any in my area. I bought this particular piece because it can in a tin and I felt they had less of a chance of breaking in transit. I had read some reviews that others would break when shipped. They are also individually wrapped so there is less chance of humidity taking over and making them a sticky mess.

Bob’s Sweet Strips are another option. They both work and everyone has their favorites.

lemons sliced in half on a bamboo cutting board

Instructions:

  1. Slice a lemon in half around the circumference. Some people cut the top third off but I find that the short sticks do better in half a lemon. Also, if this is a fundraiser you have a better profit margin if you can sell two vs. the one.
  2. Use a little knife to make a small X in the center of the lemon and press the soft porous peppermint stick into the center.

Notes

My tip if you are preparing them for a crowd: slice the lemons and let everyone place their own peppermint stick into the lemon.
