What spices are in guacamole seasoning?

  • salt - I use kosher but sea salt or regular table salt will work just fine.
  • onion powder - One of the spices I am never without! I buy it in the wholesale club container for recipes like these.
  • garlic powder - see above
  • ground cumin- ground cumin is made from roasted cumin seeds and found in a lot of Mexican dishes as well as lots of curry dishes
  • cayenne pepper - cayenne pepper is ground, dried chili peppers. It has a kick of heat.

Other recipes that use these spices:

  • Onion powder
    • bang bang shrimp
    • trader joe's everything but the bagel seasoning
    • dill pickle chex mix
  • Garlic powder
    • Mexican Corn Dip
    • Seasoned Ranch Cheeze-Its
    • Naan Bread
  • Ground Cumin
    • Beanless Chili
    • Crockpot Mexican Corn and Chicken Soup

How to make homemade guacamole seasoning:

  1. Measure out all the spices.
  2. Add the guacamole spices to a glass mason jar or other airtight containers.
  3. Close the container and shake to combine.

Guacamole seasoning making tips:

  • use a funnel to get all the ingredients into the mason jar. This is not necessary if you are not as messy as I am!
  • Mix all ingredients in a jar, then give the jar a good shake.  I'd recommend shaking the jar to mix the ingredients well before each use.
  • write the directions on the lid for easy refrence. Yes folks, just me and a sharpie marker.

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon of above mix
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh minced garlic
