This fresh fruit blender blueberry salsa recipe features fresh, plump blueberries paired with ripe summer strawberries, a hint of lime and a kick of jalapeño in this fresh blueberry salsa recipe. Blueberry salsa is the summer salsa you didn't know you needed to complete your salsa recipe collection.
I have seen some blueberry salsa recipes that call for red bell pepper or onion. While those recipes are delicious I love the full fruit flavors of this blueberry salsa with the kick of jalapeno, cilantro and lime. The flavors pair nicely together.

What is in blueberry salsa?
- Fresh blueberries
- Fresh strawberries
- Cilantro
- Jalapeno
- Lime juice and zest

Can this salsa be made in a blender or food processor?
This salsa is perfect for your blender or food processor. Just pulse the ingredients a few times until you achieve the consistency you desire. I would not turn the blender or food processor fully on as it might getaway from you and you might end up with a soup. If you DO want a cold fruit soup recipe I would suggest my strawberry soup.
Do you have to use a food processor or blender to make this salsa?
If you don't have a food processor or blender, or in my case they are both in the dishwasher, don't worry. Just pull out a cutting board and a chef knife and chop away! It will take a few extra minutes but hand chopping your salsa is another way of achieving a delicious side dish.
How far ahead can this salsa be made?
I like to make this salsa about an hour before I serve it. I would not advise making it more than 8 hours ahead as the salt will start to break down the berries and make them liquid.
How do you make blueberry salsa?
- Remove the seeds, stem and membrane of the jalapeno pepper and roughly chop the pepper.
- Zest and juice the lime into the bottom of the food processor or blender.
- Add the rest of the ingredients on top of the lime juice and zest.
- Close the lid and pulse until the desired consistency is achieved.
- Taste for seasoning and add more salt, if needed.
- Chill for 1 hour for best flavor results.
What to serve with blueberry salsa.
I am a fan of serving this blueberry salsa with tortilla chips. If you can find the one with a hint of lime, that would be delicious. Another sweet option is to serve them with cinnamon tortilla chips. This salsa is so good with sous vide sea bass for a lighter, fresher accompaniment than the tomatoes I normally serve. it would also be good on pancakes or waffles if you like a little heat with your sweet in the morning.
