One of our favorite restaurant appetizers is fried green beans. Nothing is more satisfying than dipping crunchy coated fried green beans in a wasabi spiked ranch dressing to start off a great meal. This is my homemade fried green beans recipe that is sure to make you feel like you are eating at your favorite restaurant.

While you have your fry oil still hot make some other fried appetizers and treats. Fried Pickles, Tex-Mex Egg Rolls, Bang Bang Shrimp, and my favorite to use Thanksgiving leftovers, the Thanksgiving Egg Roll. You will have an appetizer platter to rival any appetizer platter.

Green Bean Fries Copy Cat Recipe

I scoured the internet when I got home to find a copy cat recipe and this is a mashup of about 3 of the recipes that I found. Nothing is like sitting at the restaurant having the server bring you the freed green beans but this recipe is a pretty close second place.

Can I use canned green beans to make fried green beans?

You can probably get away with frozen in a pinch but DO NOT use canned. Canned are WAY to soft for this application. You need to crispness of a fresh green bean to make a good fried green bean.

How to prepare fresh green beans to make fried green beans:

    1. Trim the stem end off of each fresh green bean.
    2. Blanch them in simmering water for 3-4 minutes, depending on the thickness of the bean.
    3. Do not pat dry. The water will help the flour in the next step to adhere to the bean.
