Thanksgiving recipes are what I obsess over every October and November; turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and every side dish that has to be on my family's table.
Here you will find my turkey brining and roasting methods, my go-to sides, make-ahead appetizers, and the desserts that close out the meal.
I also walk you through thawing and carving safely, since a good Thanksgiving starts with handling that turkey the right way.

Turkey Roasting & Prep Methods
Every great Thanksgiving starts with the turkey, and how you thaw, brine, and roast it makes all the difference. These are my step-by-step methods for however you like to cook your bird.
Carving, Gravy & Turkey Stocks
Once that turkey comes out of the oven, carving it right and turning the drippings into gravy is the last step between you and dinner.

More Thanksgiving Feast Tips
How far ahead can I prep Thanksgiving side dishes?
Most of my sauces and dips can be made a day or two ahead. Cranberry sauce and cranberry chutney actually taste better after a day in the fridge, and dips like my caramelized onion dip hold up fine covered and chilled.
What temperature should a Thanksgiving turkey be cooked to?
A whole turkey is safe to eat once the breast meat hits 165F and the thickest part of the thigh hits 180F on an instant-read thermometer.
How long does it take to thaw a frozen turkey?
Plan on 24 hours of thaw time in the refrigerator for every 4 to 5 pounds of turkey. My full thawing guide walks through it step by step.
What can I do with Thanksgiving leftovers?
Leftover turkey does not have to mean another plain sandwich. Turn it into Thanksgiving poutine, turkey sliders, or turkey shepherd's pie.
Can I make Thanksgiving desserts ahead of time?
Yes! No-bake desserts like my éclair cake and peanut butter pie are built for making a day ahead, which frees up your oven for the turkey on the actual day.
