Making bourbon cherries at home is an easy DIY recipe project to stock your bar cart or to give as a hostess gift. I found these to be the best bourbon cherries and everyone always asks for my bourbon cherries recipe. It is up to you how many bourbon soaked cherries you will use to garnish your cocktail. I won’t tell!

If you are looking for other homemade bar items be sure to try lilac syrup, lilac infused alcohol, grapefruit infused gin, cucumber infused gin, and homemade limoncello.

Drunken Bourbon Cherries Recipe Easily Made At Home

The other week my husband and I had the rare opportunity to have a night out with out the kids. We decided that instead of picking one place to have our date we thought it would be fun to go from restaurant to restaurant and have an appetizer and drink. We were able to sample delicious cocktails and lots of yummy eats along the way. I think we are going to have to do this again soon!

One of the restaurants we went to had this incredible Manhattan and the garnish was a boozy cherry. It was like the cherry had taken a deep dive in bourbon and came up super happy.

It made me happy and it inspired me to make this post.

PS. These are super easy, super delicious and make a great gift!

How to make bourbon cherries

  1. Fill the canning jars 2/3 full with dried cherries.

  5. Add the lid and ring.

I would advise printing it on card stock and cutting them out with a 2 inch round punch. If you don’t have the punch, scissors work just as well….it is just not as fast. A fix the printable with a small dot of glue.

I would advise storing the cherries in the refrigerator.

Serve your drunken bourbon cherries as a garnish to your cocktail. Or eat them on their own. No judgement here.
