Here is why this easy cucumber onion salad is amazing:

    • Thanks to the use of English cucumbers, this refreshing salad can be made year-round. Use garden fresh cucumbers when they are in season.
    • Perfect for a summer side dish or serve at a bridal luncheon or baby shower.
    • The sweetness of the sugar balances out the tang and the bite of the onions while the fresh dill brings a refreshing brightness of flavor.

Frequently asked questions, answers and tips:

Why are English cucumbers used in this recipe?

Also known as burpless cucumbers, European cucumbers or hothouse cucumbers, these cukes are perfect for making salads because of their thin skin, mild yet sweet flavor and are believed to be easier to digest. Keep an eye out for the shrink-wrapped, long thin cucumber. That is what you are looking for. But if English cucumbers are not available in your area, use your favorite cucumber for this recipe.
