What ingredients are in an OREO truffle balls?
- OREO Cookies, Classic. - DO NOT remove the cream filling. The WHOLE cookie is used.
- Cream cheese - I use regular cream cheese that has been softened
- Chocolate chips - Chocolate chips for melting for coating the truffles. Chocolate melts can be substituted. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate can all be used.
Garnishes for No-bake OREO truffles
There are a variety of garnishes that can be used when making OREO truffles. Here are a few suggestions to make the truffles more elegant and festive with garnishes:
- OREO cookie pieces
- Flake Salt
- White chocolate curls
- Piece of nut. - Pecan featured but walnuts or almonds would also be delicious.
- Decorated chocolate disks
How to make easy OREO truffles

- Soften the cream cheese to room temperature.
- Add the Oreos in a food processor.
- Pulse the cookies into fine crumbs.
- Break the cream cheese into pieces and add the cream cheese to the bowl of the food processor.
- Pulse the crushed cookies and cream cheese until the two combine to form a ball.
- Using a 1-inch scoop, portion out the OREO truffle mixture onto a baking sheet with wax paper, parchment paper, silicone mat or sprayed with non-stick spray.
- Chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- Roll into balls using your hands to form a more consistent 1-inch ball.
- Place the cookie balls back in the freezer while you prepare the chocolate for dipping.
- Over a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips or chocolate melts until ⅔ of the chocolate is melted.
- Remove from the heat and continue to stir until all the chocolate is completely melted.
- Once the chocolate is melted, dip truffles with the melted chocolate, allowing the excess chocolate to drip off the truffle. A slight tapping motion can help with this process.
- Place balls on wax paper, silicone mat or decorative chocolate sheet transfer to set the chocolate shell.
- As soon as the ball is placed down, garnish the top before the chocolate sets.
- Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving or storing in the refrigerator.
How to make these easy decorative chocolate disks

- Use a decorative chocolate transfer sheet and place it shiny side down on a flat surface.
- Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over a small area of the transfer sheet.
- Just before the chocolate sets completely, use a ½" metal circle cutter to press through the chocolate, forming disks.
- Allow the chocolate to set completely before removing it from the transfer sheet.
- Use tweezers to set on the truffle. They melt easily!
