Foil Packet Meals For Camping
I first learned about foil packet meals when I was a Girl Scout. We did a bunch of camping and I am sure there was an outdoor skill badge we were working toward that involved Hobo packets. I loved that you could place a few ingredients on a square of foil, wrap it up, place over the hot coals and in short time you had a delicious meal.
As my tastes matured my favorites went from potatoes to salmon and Mahi Mahi. I hope these easy, delicious foil packet meals make your next camping trip both more tasty and more enjoyable.
Tin Foil Meal Food Safety:
- Be sure to keep your packets in a cooler with ice or in a refrigerator if you are fancy RV camping.
- If you packets contain juices from raw meat, be sure they are stored on the bottom of the cooler, below any fresh produce.
- Just at home, be sure all meats are cooked to the proper temperature. No one wants to get sick while camping!
- Be sure to wash your hands before and after touching raw meat.
