Using the full range of attachments for the KitchenAid mixer can help make your prep so much easier for so many dishes. By adding just a few of these Kitchen Aid attachments to your collection, it will make your prep faster, easier and help you produce more delicious results.

Here is a delicious collection of Kitchenaid mixer recipes to get you started.

When adding an attachment for your KitchenAid mixer to your collection you will first want to find out the model number of your stand mixer. All KitchenAid countertop appliances come with an adhesive label that lists both the serial and model numbers. The model number for your stand number is located on the bottom of the unit's base and back.

Make note of the number because you are going to need it when you are picking out your attachment.

11 Must Have Attachments For Kitchen Aid Mixers

Dough Hook - a MUST for anyone making yeast-raised doughs. Let the power of the Kitchen Aid do the work of leading the dough. Just be sure to get the dough hook that fits your machine.

Flex edge paddle - a flexible edge that thoroughly scrapes ingredients into the bowl reducing the mixing time of your recipe.

Extra bowl - if you are like me and don't want to take the time to wash the bowl between recipes, keep an extra bowl on hand. Also, keep an extra bowl in the freezer for when you are wanting to make homemade whipped cream. A cold bowl is helpful in whipped cream success.

Sifter + Scale Attachment - for consistent baking the ingredients should be measured on a scale. This is what I was taught in pastry school and time and time again it has proven to be true, especially when you are double or tripling a recipe. And then to have the sifter right there. Less mess and fewer items to wash!

Slicer/Shredder Attachment - if you have arthritis or have trouble gripping the slicer/shredder attachment will be your new BFF. Perfect for when you are shredding zucchini for bread or zucchini fritters or if you are making a homemade coleslaw or shredding cheese for lasagna roll-ups.

Citrus Juicer - I use my Breville juicer for when I am juicing firm fruits and vegetables such as apples, carrots, and making beet juice but I found that the Citrus Juicer works MUCH BETTER for when I am squeezing fresh citrus. Super easy cleanup and the juice does not have any hints of bitterness from the white pith.

Pasta Roller & Cutter - I have a hand-crank pasta machine but the Pasta Roller & Cutter for my KitchenAid is amazing for when I am making pasta sheets by myself because I don't need a second set of hands.

Quart Stand Mixer Bowl, (White Gardenia Ceramic) - treat yourself to a beautiful ceramic bowl to help bring a bright splash of color to your kitchen. The only drawback is that the ceramic mixer bowls are for the tilt top mixers.

Food Grinder Accessory - at first I thought this attachment was just for grinding meat but it is also awesome for when you want to make large batches of salsa! Sometimes a food processor or blender can puree the ingredients too much. Chopping can take too long and can be exhausting for your hands and arms. The food grinder accessory is the perfect compromise.

Bowl Covers for Tilt-Head Stand Mixers - I give these bowl covers whenever I see a bride has a KitchenAid on her wedding registry. Often over looked but always appreciated and useful. This cover is great for covering cool-rise yeast doughs or leftover cookie batters, mashed potatoes, and more.

Grain Mill - this accessory is not for everyone but for those who are into making their own bread it is a MUST! Once you have learned how amazing homemade bread is, you will be wanting to grind your own flours! This attachment is all metal can adjust to grind fine flour to coarsely cracked grains.
